In the last five years of my career, I never imagined I ended up in such a different position from where I started. Not all the companies have a shadowing program. The shadowing program here in Skye allowed me to join other teams and learn from other fields here in the company, which led me to where I am now. Today, I'm a director and the Solutions Development Team. We built custom solutions for clients, scoping with them what are their pain points on the day-to-day work and creating automations to make their work more efficient, which, to be honest, is kind of my dream job. I feel like internal mobility in Skye is something that's the company is pushing a lot, finding new positions within the company that you didn't necessarily think that you wanted or had interest in. A lot of people are moving between different teams very often, which I found to be very unique to this company. I think it's part of the Skye culture to move to different positions, mainly to stay within the company and be happier. I think that a lot of people stay in the same career path and they're afraid to go outside their career path, afraid to go into different fields. And this is a great opportunity to do your day-to-day work but also explore other positions.
