I spent 17 years in the Queensland Police Service and I've been able to accomplish far more within my role here. So I've done human trafficking in Thailand, I've done drug investigations in the Philippines and I've been exposed to far more child protection investigations than what I've ever been exposed to in my 17 years in the police service than what I am currently doing in Celebrite. Celebrite had come to Brisbane, had conducted a demonstration and for me it was a real sliding doors moment because I was happy in the police service. So that change was quite significant for me because I wasn't looking external. The decision to move into private industry was huge for me. It's been a brilliant move. It's one of the best transitions because I'm doing what I love. I'm still involved in investigations but I don't have any powers. I have no arrest powers but I'm still involved and I'm still actually making a difference. I still bleed blue is what I call it. You can still do what you're passionate about. You can still do investigations. You can still work with those agencies. I'm still indirectly helping to lock up criminals. I don't actually have any handcuffs anymore but I'm still helping to lock them up. You have to make the jump and you have to back yourself that you have the life skills and knowledge to do it. We all doubt ourselves but ultimately you have to take that chance. You have to back yourself.
